Ascent of Mount Shasta's West Face Gully (AG II 35*). Descent via Avalanche Gulch & carry over. 7,500 elevation gain.

Party of three. Brad (tf), Nik & H.

Approach: 5-13 2,500 elevation gain

Approach to Hidden Valley 9,300. Temps in the teens. 33 degree alpine ice traverse near waterfall on the approach.

Climb: 5-14 5,000 elevation gain.

Temps in the teens. 35 degree gully. Good climbing conditions. The sun hits this East side route very late in the day.

Descent: 5-14
