Ascent Trip Report

Part of a loop hike/run. After coming down the Boulder Trail to Round Pond Road, I had some confusion in trying to find the start of the South Ridge Trail. There's a sign for the bypass trail, but none for South Ridge. After referencing the map, I found the start of the trail at the edge of the pond. About .8 in from the start of the trail is tiny little pond on the right where I stopped to take a breather and enjoy the peace and quiet. I continued on to the summit and the fire tower. There was a crew working on the roof of the tower and they had the bottom all taped off so I couldn't climb it to enjoy some views. They also had a loud generator running which didn't help things either. The bugs were relentless as well. Continued down the trail to Mountain Rd., turned left then turn right on Mountain Pond Rd. to return to my car.
