Ascent Trip Report

Sorry, but I can't remember whose trip report I updated below. My additions are all in CAPITAL LETTERS. Friendly waves from a few guys in trucks and no one hassled me on a weekday.

Loma Prieta Road Route
Most routes lead eventually to the roads to the south of the peak. In order to directly reach these roads, take Highway 17 towards Santa Cruz from the Bay Area, turning off on Summit Road after passing the Lexington Reservoir. Take Summit Road southeast, passing the Loma Prieta School and other likely sounding places (like the Summit Store). The road CHANGES NAME TO HIGHLAND WAY. AFTER PASSING A CAL FIRE STATION ON THE RIGHT, TURN LEFT ONTO Mt. Bache Road. Take this road a brief distance, where you will intersect "Loma Prieta Avenue (to the left)/Loma Prieta WAY (to the right)". Turn right on Loma Prieta WAY and take this until reaching the end of A paved road section. Shortly after this, there is a gate which is signed for use by "authorized and resident vehicles only". IT WAS OPEN TODAY. AFTER A WHILE LOMA CHIQUITA ROAD BRANCHES OFF TO THE RIGHT AND AFTER GOING PAST ANOTHER SIGN for use by "authorized and resident vehicles only" ANOTHER ROAD BRANCHES TO THE LEFT. CONTINUE UP THE RIGHT SIDE ROAD. NEAR THE SUMMIT TAKE THE LEFT HAND ROAD (THE RIGHT HAND ROAD GOES TO A LOWER PEAK WITH MORE TOWERS. THE SUMMIT IS A SHORT EASY BUSHWHACK FROM THE LOWER PEAK. For a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, there is a lot of traffic on it, but people waved and were generally friendly.
