Ascent Trip Report

My intent was to go up Piute from the east, but when I arrived at Jawbone canyon I discovered that the roads were closed for an OHV time trial event. Red Mountain wasn't too far away and the temperature was reasonable. HPS Route 1 turned out to be nice. Most of the climbing is done on old dirt roads and cross country travel is mostly limited to high on the ridge line where is is fairly open and not too rocky.
