Ascent Trip Report

Started from Hug Point Park, luckily the gate was marked with a sign indicating bikes are permitted along with horses and hikers. It rained the first mile up the mountain, then the rain stopped although it remained pretty gloomy most of the day. I think we were off route going up, we bushwhacked about 600 vertical feet and a mile going up the same west ridge Eric Kassan did. We compounded this mistake by dropping off the summit to the WNW which meant some pretty tough bushwhacking through thick wet brush, and getting cliffed out. That sucked. Totally soaked, made it back to bikes changed into dry warm clothes and coasted back down the mountain to Hug Point.
