Ascent Trip ReportThe second hike for our Tupper Lake Triad series today. I hiked up with Dan and Sammy. This hike was interesting for the first half of it was paved. And the first half of the paved section was in pretty decent condition; it looks like the land was cleared for a road. When the hiking trail turns left and starts to actually go up, the trail turns into the typical single track with rocks and roots. Although it appears the pavement ends at this point, the level cleared roadway continues around the bend. I only followed it for a few feet to check to see if that too was paved, but it did not appear to be. Although the roadway would be wide enough for a vehicle, the pavement isn't even as wide as a typical bike path.
It started to drizzle as soon as we reached the summit, so unfortunately our time there was short. I think I focused more on getting my rain jacket out than on the views; but the views were not as good as they could have been as low clouds were rolling in with the precipitation.
