Ascent Trip ReportThe 1999 mountaineering began in January with a snowshoe attempt on Silver Peak, from Desolation Lake. Keith, Dan, Matt, and I got ahead of the the rest of the group, and nearly got to the summit, but the wind began loading snow onto the slope that we were on, and we were forced to turn around. Meanwhile, Don, Greg, Kevin, and Jon went a different way, and never even made it to Desolation Lake. |
