Ascent Trip Report

This one is a great day hike from the town of Gjøgv in the Faroe Islands. You start out at sea level in the town and take the ridge directly to the west of the town all the way south to the summit, going over the second highest peak in the country on the way. On the way over the second highest peak on the descent, the clouds moved in and limited visibility to just a few feet. Luckily, down is the only way to go, and I eventually had no trouble reaching the road back to Gjøgv. I did this one solo, and there is little challenge to it, but it is a wonderful hike and well worth it. It may be more challenging in the winter, but I did it in August.
