Followed footsteps left by someone I saw near the summit over from Mailbox. Two very short 15ft sections of class 3/4. Otherwise mostly tree-dodging and nice ridge walking (were it not for the postholing). Should have brought crampons and microspikes, as it was quite slippery in parts. Slipped in the forest just under Dirtybox a couple times! Brought snowshoes but did not use... snow balled up and made the crampons on them useless. The trails to and from Mailbox were slippery too.
Took new trail down, heavily using poles. My knees felt great at the bottom. Using the poles is tedious however and my hands were nearly blistered.
