Ascent of Mount Fleecer on 2017-04-01
|Date:||Saturday, April 1, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||9436 ft / 2876 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI did this on April 1 with snowshoes. I was able to drive on mostly dry roads to about 6400 feet, where the Fleecer Mountain Road crosses Swede Creek on the map. From there I bypassed two switchbacks on the road before following snowmobile tracks to the radio towers on 7497. From there, I branched right off from Fleecer Road, heading to the obvious saddle, and then cross country to the north east ridge of the peak. Car to car, the outing took four hours on consolidated snow. I saw ski tracks near the summit and wished I would have brought skis instead of snowshoes. Otherwise, it was a great outing. The views from the top are outstanding of the nearby ranges.
