Ascent Trip ReportHiked the three Chalone Peaks. from Bear Gulch starting on Moses Spring Trail, bypassing the caves since we had been through them yesterday. Straight forward hike in trail and fire road thirst to North Chalone. The trail crosses two stiles you have to climb over. Then backtracked a little on trail and dropped down to the use trail for South Chalone. Good use trail all the way, but you lose almost 800 feet of elevation between the two. After South, we followed the trail back down to the saddle and took off XC along the fence line and up to Middle Chalone and then along another fence and XC up to pick up the use trail just before it rejoins the North Chalone road.
