Ascent Trip ReportFirst hike of a five-day Arizona county high pointing trip. We drove the Harquahala Mountain Byway to the 4200' level, parked at a pullout and hiked the road the rest of the way On the way we had passed a road grader crew up on the mountain to clear rocks. We could have driven further, but we didn't know the road and it was na easy walk. On the way we were passed by two groups of off-roaders (retirees it appeared). There were some huge rocks partly blocking the road but the vehicles managed to get by.
On top it was windy with good views. Could not find the benchmark; most likely it was graded a way a long time ago. |
