Ascent Trip Report

Added this nice extra credit because I had read that it finishes with a nice class 3 scramble and it does. It is not a very long scramble but if you go over the spine of the ridge there is some nice drops on both sides and rewarding views. For the day, it was about 1 hour and 45 minutes to the top of Southern Boulder Peak. After taking photos and drinks at that peak and then heading down to the saddle and then running up this subpeak, It added another 0.6 miles to the route and there was reason to take more photos at the top of Bear. I think I was on the top of Bear at about the 2 hour and 15 minute mark. I got back to the car in just 4 hours total for the double peak trip. Bear is the sexier ascent and with some very good views but South Boulder has the 1000k prominence so it is worth doing a twofer while you are up there.
