Ascent Trip ReportSelby Campground is ideally situated for getting an early start on this long hike. It only takes about about 20 minutes to get to the Trailhead on a narrow, steep, single lane access road.
The access road gate may be closed when the road is muddy. Contact the Carrizzo Plains Nat. Monument HQ for gate status, if planning to hike after a rainstorm.
Views from this mostly ridge line route include easterly panoramas looking over the Carizzo Plains and the San Juaquin valley with the Sierra Nevada's in the background. To the west is the central California coastal range. |
