Ascent Trip ReportJust area 1. This was 'Olsonized', as Fred Lobdell has used the term. It was past dark when I got there. I parked about 30 ft. past the now blocked entrance to the landfill, at right angles to the road. I left the engine running and the headlights on illuminating where I wanted to go as I walked and paced about 100 ft. into the woods. I found the ground go up and a bit of a smaller heap in there, then it seemed to drop going forward. The only thing that seemed wrong was that the most prominent heap seemed to be on the south side of the old railroad grade, rather than the north side... Good enough. It would have been better if I had made better use of my time during the day, so I could have done it in daytime, and to have taken a flashlight (at home) and GPS unit (in car) and used them.
