Ascent Trip ReportParked at Beegum Gap and followed the Bartram Trail up to the Rabun summit and took in the amazing view. Continued on the Bartram Trail down Rabun and turned on to the Alex Mountain trail which took me over Flint Knob East and Flint Knob. Went down to the end of the trail, sky was turning dark and became pretty windy so decided to head back instead of pushing on to Alex Mountain. By the time I made it back to the summit at Rabun Bald the clouds had rolled in, definitely got there at the right time that morning. Pretty much had the mountain to myself. Only saw one other hiker and then a couple once I made it back to Beegum Gap. |
