Ascent Trip Report

Parked at the larger Spruceton Rd parking lot near road's end. Began heading north on the Spruceton Trail (woods road), and at 0.6 miles, bore northwest off of the trail and bushwhacked the rest of the way up the mountain. There was a good amount of snow, but it was firm, and there was a herd path in the snow for us to follow the entire way.

Many areas in the bushwhack section were steep, which was less a problem on the way up than it was on the way back down. At one point on the descent. our group decided to break from the route we ascended on and took a more circuitous route. This was to pursue a less-steep route, and it worked.

RT hike was 3.3 miles, with about 1:15 to ascend, and 42 mins to descend.
Tempswere 25-30 degrees F for most of the hike.
