Ascent Trip ReportScramble with Steve Fox. We parked at the closed bridge and walked about 1/4 mile up the forest road and started scramble up new growth forest. No snow at this elevation, was steep but no bushwhacking. Soon we were on snow, but did not need snowshoes. We continued up with increased snow. We reached the ridge and continue towards Round Mountain. We carried snowshoes, but did not use them. We did need pull out ice axes to descend down the ridge and then ascend again up towards the summit. We were stopped at the rocks due to ice and snow conditions with a very steep run out.
It was a beautiful day with great views and a good workout. I would like to attempt the summit again.
