Ascent Trip ReportVery cold and windy but a beautiful clear day for a hike with my friend Jesse from work. Parked between Coosa Bald and Slaughter Mountain on SR 180 at Wolfpen Gap and started the hike going by north on the Duncan Ridge Trail. Leisurely hike for awhile then came out onto a road at Wildcat Gap. Continued on the Duncan Ridge Trail and it gets a good bit steeper at this point but is a fairly short journey to the summit. Descended back to Wolfpen Gap and continued south towards Slaughter Mountain. To get to the summit veered off the trail to the right and went straight up to the top. Very nice view of Blood Mountain from here. Started the hike about 10am and finished in about 4 hours right after 2pm.
