Ascent Trip ReportSE Ridge, Class 3. This scramble is on solid rock and is more of a sustained climb 3 climb than the N Ridge or NW Ridge.
Cubre Rucu Pitchincha "Old the good that cries" 4,698 meters. Beautiful views today in all directions. I can see everything I climbed this trip (14 peaks). Hawks at the summit. Solo 4 peak traverse.
The Approach: Pitchinchas Traverse from 'Refugio Volcàn' (workers hut).
Logistics: Take the Teleferico from the end of the trail (called Cruz Loma) down to Quito. From here take a wire van $5 and $1 per person to your Quito destination.
