Ascent of Little Watatic Mountain on 2017-01-16
|Date:||Monday, January 16, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Little Watatic Mountain|
| Elevation:||1595 ft / 486 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI approached from the south on Stowell Road, and parked in a pull-out spot at the end of the maintained section of road.
There are various trails and wide paths in Ashburnham State Forest, but I'm not sure if there are any complete trail maps available. From my parking spot, I started out bushwhacking west, following the state forest boundary. After a while, I met up with a promising path leading uphill, and started following it. It meandered a bit, but it went all the way to the summit.
I spent five minutes in the summit area enjoying views from a couple of spots. The views might not be as good when leaves are on the trees. Then I headed down the same way I ascended. Nice little peak.
