Ascent Trip Report

We had done Vanderwhacker the day before and found Snowy to be by far the hardest of the fire towers we had so far climbed. The beginning of the hike was very pleasant with a gradual grade, however, the last mile of the peak was very steep and very, very rocky, we had to go very slow especially on the way back down. We ran into other hikers on the trail and warned them on our way back down how wet it was and to be careful. We saw several hikers with regular sneakers and one bottle of water which really surprised us because on these hikes you need a good supply of water and good hiking shoes because all of the trails we have been on this summer due to all the rain have been very wet! It was a very slow climb down and we were happy to finish with the rocks and happy to see the gradual terrain again.
