Ascent Trip Report

Driving Directions:

Head west on AZ 86 from Tucson. Just past the Border Patrol checkpoint look for S Hayhook Ranch Road on your left at MP 146. Zero your odometer here.

0.0 mi - Turn south on S Hayhook Ranch Road. This road will curve right, then left, and pass roads on your right.
5.4 mi - The road turns sharply right and immediately crosses a cattle guard. Continue straight on Dill's Best.
8.9 mi - The road ends at the trailhead.

This is a strenuous hike with a sometimes difficult trail to follow and cactus and catclaw off trail. The summit ridge is forested but the trail is helpful here to the right of the rock outcroppings. A GPS is very useful.
