We hauled Adelie on the beach just S of the river on the W shore of Tallek Arm and spent several days there. We climbed 5100 on a three day hike. We climbed the river valley, turned R onto a side valley and set up a high camp. From there we climbed 5100 and on Aug 09 we climbed Peak 4600 with good views down into Tallek Arm. We believe this was also a first ascent. The weather was good when we left the beach and "interesting" when we set up camp. "Interesting" includes high winds, rain, snow, bent high altitude tent poles, collapsing rock piles anchoring tent guys, snow, sleet, zero visibility, and a visitation of a large unidentified animal.
Back at the boat on the beach, we climbed I hope to edit this account to include more details and a more accurate route description. |
