Ascent Trip Report

Who needs Whitney when you can easily get the other end of the extreme. Lowest named Summit in the US!

So on peakbagger at the time of my trip, there were a couple lower summits that were a bump and mesa respectively. Mars Hill is at least a called a hill. I guess at some point, you could just go to the literal lowest place in the US and claim that you're standing on a peak of sorts since some sand down there has more elevation than some other sand. But I guess if 20 ft of prominence is enough to call this the lowest peak, then I'm on board!

The hardest part of this peak bag was convincing my friends that we should do it. But I was apparently convincing enough! The peak is close to Artist's Drive which is a popular tourist attraction, so if you're in the area for sightseeing, then this peak is easy enough to grab in 5 minutes on your way to something else.
