Ascent Trip Report

***Sierra Club Outing***
led by Mat Kelliher, Mike Dillenback, May Tang

Fun little hike right of Sheep Pass Group campsite No. G01 on the second day of the 2016 HPS Holiday Hooplah. We headed out cross country and up the prominent gully bearing SW to its top, then worked our way south and up onto the ridge connecting Joshua BM and Peak 5238, heading east from here climbed up to the summit where Joshua BM is found. From here we reversed course and headed west along the ridge, continuing past where we came up, over undulating terrain until turning SW and climbing up onto Pk 5238. From the summit of 5238 we turned south and descended to the Ryan Mtn Trail, which we followed south to the summit of Ryan Mtn. From Ryan's summit we returned to Sheep Pass campground via the Ryan Mtn Trail. Very nice hike, great views, perfect weather.

Mileage and gain for entire trip: 4.0 miles, 1,200' gain, 3 hours
