Ascent Trip ReportGot a cab ride from Boquete at 4am and we started hiking around 4:30am. 11 hour trip gate to gate. Hiking time was about 4 hours 40 minutes up, and 4 hours down. Threatened rain most of the day, but we got lucky and only had a few minutes of rain the whole time.
We spent an hour at the peak (no one else there) and managed to see some views of both the Caribbean and Pacific oceans peaking through the clouds.
You definitely do not need a guide as the trail is very easy to follow (hostel tried to get us to sign up for a tour). Brought about 7L of water for 2 people and we were running low by the end.
Fun but probably wouldn't do it again (as most other trip reports have stated).
