Ascent Trip Reportpopular exercise hill. easy paved road to the top (gated at the bottom). good views of tucson and the surrounding peaks.
this wasn't my first choice for the day, but the weather wasn't co-operating. first choice was mount lemmon, but it was encased in dark clouds, the summit was not even visible. second choice was wasson peak, which stood out with relatively blue skies around it. however by the time i got to the trailhead for wasson it was blanketed by dark clouds. both summits had thunderstorms in the forecast, and i decided it was time to give up on a P2k for today.
so on the way south, on my way to sierra vista (aiming for a chilly ascent of miller peak tomorrow), i spotted this easy P300. i figured i'd get a little walk in, and at least have something to show for today.
