Ascent Trip Report

The first peak of the deployment! I was joined by two of my peakbagging friends that I have shared a number of summits with, Gabe & Sonny, as well as a new peakbagging friend, Rishi. We made our way to Changi Village to take the bumboat to Pulau Ubin. Bike rentals were easy to obtain and we were on our way! All the trails are well marked. There are maps at every intersection. We ended up going to the Ketam mountain bike park and riding the full loop. I ate major shit on one of the black diamond loop trails. Sonny got a great video of it. We have to figure out how to post it without the profanity but it ends with. Gabe said it was easy but he's good with technology and stuff. The whole mountain bike loop took us about 3 hours but we made a lot of stops for pics and videos... This was definitely a unique experience hitting a few miles of single track through the jungle. After we complete the full mountain bike loop around the reservoir on the eastern portion of the island, we made our way back to the trailhead for the High Point. We ditched our bikes here. The trail ascends steeply to the top of the peak/hill. At the top you are rewarded with great views of the reservoir and into Malaysia. Since I was covered in mud and blood, we made our way back to Changi village for lunch so that I could bird bath it in a sink.
