Ascent Trip Report

The dirt road is in fairly good shape, although there isn't much pavement as reported. There are some pretty steeps hills to get up and a few ruts; other than those, the road is all right.

We built up the duct at the trail head, so it's easier to spot from the road.

The use trail is fairly straight forward to the mountain; on the actual ascent of the mountain, the only challenge is an area in which hikers can go either right or left. We chose left--big mistake--really challenging to get around and over the boulders on the steep incline. We finally found a clear area and were able to get to the summit, but it was really a bad choice to go that way.

From the peak, we found the use trail up to the peak and took that on the descent. There are some ducks along the route, but I wouldn't call it well-ducked. When we got back to the area of confusion we put two separate ducks on both sides of the trail, so there shouldn't be any future confusion on the part of hikers.
