Ascent Trip Report

Why do I live in FL? Desperate to hike something new on public lands as there is no real peakbagging in FL and I have no trips for a few weeks to where there is real topographic relief and not wanting to attempt another flat county HP with 10 candidate HPs most of which are on private lands, I stumbled onto a public park with botanic gardens to check out. At least some boardwalks and paths and a place to bring the dog to get some exercise. Honestly, this park is the City of Winter Park so it is free. You get what you paid for in terms of well maintained grounds. Not much relief but some fall between the uplands west side and the red maple swamp in the NE corner. Perhaps I will come back with family to jog trails or give the dog a nice run. I am always happy to look at plants. Until I get to go where there are some peaks to bag......Mead will have to do. Any time in the woods beats a day in the office!
