Ascent Trip Report

Steady rain most of the day. Started from summer gate at 7:45am. Pushed bikes first 5 miles through mud, unable to pedal, finally unable to push. Threw bikes in a bush swearing aloud in disgust and despair. Walked the remaining 22 miles up to the peak and back. Heavy chafing. Returned to the bikes at 6:15pm and proceeded to ride the rest of the way back to the car in the dark. Mud was still moist in many spots which facilitated minor falls, and major swearing. Back at car at 7:00pm. Utter exhaustion set in on 4 hour drive home. Jon O'Donnell is a good man. That's all I have to say about yesterday.
