Ascent Trip Report

Started out a fine day, unusually hot for a late fall day, less favorable at the top. I started from a car park at a sheep farm just past the turn off for Cronin's Yard. There are signs for it and the trail intersects the Cronin trail, called the Lislebane loop. Not much difference than starting from Cronin's, tad shorter perhaps. Weather was nice and sunny until halfway up Devil's ladder and then the wind made an appearance. The rest of the way was windy and foggy with not much visibility but the cairns help to find the way to the top. Couldn't see anything at the top but thankfully there is a small rock shelter from the wind right next to the summit cross. Just a few of us brave souls on the mountain that day. Devil's ladder is quite a trek, watch out for slippery rocks when misting. Beautiful setting when it can be seen though!
