Ascent Trip Report

First trip up Flattop with my dad, it is what started me on my love for climbing. I hiked the old trail which is roped off now because too many people were getting hurt during the scramble up the side with all of the loose rock. I have also hiked the new trail with its steps cut into the mountain, not as fun, and chocked full of people at all times during the hike as it is the most hiked mountain in the Chugach Range and subsequently all of Alaska.
