Ascent Trip ReportSince the hike didn’t work out the day before, I wanted to get out and get a quick mile in; furthermore with the rain it was a good time to test my rain gear (e.g. pants, jacket, pack cover).
I did this hike back in the fall and went on the left trail from the trailhead (.8 miles to summit) and returned on trail that starts on the right side of the trailhead (.6 miles). This time, I went up the right trail and completed the loop. This way seemed to be a nicer hike up with better views and a bit steeper. The other trail has chunks of asphalt which really are ugly, I assume it was part of the old trail for the fire tower folks.
