Ascent Trip Report

From Cat Rock took the trail all the way to the Blue trail connection. The summit is off that trail a bit. As I went along to the overlook I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. As I was running I was pretty much past when I turned I saw it was a whole family of bears. The kids (not small ones!) took off away from the trail but mama made a step or two towards me before also fleeing. I had myself convinced it didn't happen by the time I reached the bottom of the hill. But there is an article about a family of bears invading the campground at CF State Park in the Post from last week (in a general article about camping there) so maybe not.
