Ascent Trip ReportHiked with Dan and Sammy. Easy hike. Lots of people on the trail today, and lots of dogs - all but one was on a leash, which was surprising. I feel bad, I totally forgot my cotton today. I think we were the only people not wearing jeans and some sort of cotton sweatshirt / top. Despite how dry it's been lately, the trail was quite muddy and with the leaves starting to fall, it was pretty slick in some spots. Also, because of the moisture, there were a bunch of mushrooms / fungi to photograph and enjoy.
Now I think we're finally done with the Fire Tower Challenge, unless they make another one that is inaccessible available to the public again. We finished last November with the 29 that were previously accessible in the Adirondacks and Catskills. This one was restored and reopened to the public earlier this season. And the tower was in spectacular condition. Job well done.
