Ascent Trip ReportAfter two cancelled climbs of Observation Rock, the third one was a success thanks to an awesome team and a little luck. We hit the weather window we were able to almost exact. Our objective was in view all the way through the approach and the weather really turned on us only at last pitch of the ice climb where a graupel storm brought a cascade of icy pellets flowing down the route. But we were warm and well covered when we topped out in white-out conditions. We decided to forgo the summit given the conditions and instead scrambled around Observation Rock and back down on the glacier largely in white-out condition navigating by GPS. Light snow or rain accompanies us all all the way back to the trail head. A great long day with friends!
