Ascent Trip ReportThe Rattlesnake Mountain Trail from the west is in excellent condition. I bypassed the western summit since the trail traverses below it, and hit it on the return. The new logging between the summits, unfortunately, is going to lay blowdown across the trail for years to come the way they designed the leave trees. A buffer would have been nice. Perhaps a new Public Lands Commissioner would be responsive to recreation. Not against logging at all, just why against and over top of the trail? Why leave tiny clumbs of leave trees that will get uprooted across the trail?
