Ascent Trip Report

Started from the large carpark at the end of the road above El Travieso. Followed the well cairned route to Cuerda del Cavitero and then along the ridge to and up Canchal de la Ceja. We saw snow in a corrie under the north face of the summit.
The ascent was fairly straight forward but the descent caused me problems. Since breaking my ankle I am very wary on steep rough paths and what had seemed benign on the ascent proved to be problematic for me to descend. My extreme caution slowed us considerably and it was fortunate that we had tried the lower slopes on the previous day while Geocaching. This helped us calculate a fairly accurate timing for the descent. As it was we reached the carpark at sunset.
