Ascent Trip ReportI think this was one of the funnest peaks I've done to date. It's not terribly hard, the scenery is amazing, and the it's really good for entry level, off-trail hiking with no bushwhacking required. There is no trail, but I had an absolute blast route-finding. In fact, I'm fairly convinced there are probably 5 other good routes to take up this hill. I'm actually keen to go back and do this one again a completely different way.
The top is more of a plateau than a sharp peak, and we wandered around quite a bit before finding the summit register on what I'll assume is the peak, though it's hard to exactly decipher visually.
The route we descended was more mellow and less exposed than then the ridgeline route we took up (not that the ridgeline was overly exposed). So if you use my tracks, try them in reverse, and let me know how it goes...! The route we took down from red hill peak was via fairly shallow gully that spit us into the beautiful wash.
There is no "trailhead" per se, but there is an obvious clearing in which to pull off your car before you blast off into the desert. Passenger car is just fine.
Started 7:09 AM and ended at 9:55 AM right right as it was hitting 89 degrees. @gin_party on insta for a handful of pics.
