Ascent Trip Report

The forecast looked fine, but when we got to the trailhead it was slightly raining for a good two hours. We got to Bourgeau Lake, had a quick lunch and continued up Harveys Pass. The rain finally stopped when we got to the summit ridge. We were surprised by a valley with golden larches stretching as far as the eye could see. This is what we came for! We hiked up to the summit, which was hidden in the clouds. There was no view at the top and the wind was freezing. If the ceiling was 100m higher we would have had a summit view. Either way, we cruised back down and enjoyed the views on the way. The rain started again, so we had a quick snack and made the long descent back to the car. It was a nice and easy hike on a perfect weekend for larches! Fall is here and will be gone real soon!
