Ascent Trip ReportJohn Muir Trail. Class 1. Great views. Slog. There are more interesting routes up. Solo up. Party of 3 down.
I gained all of the 10,078 prominence of Mount Whitney (and some change) by starting in Little Yosemite Valley (4,100).
This route was first climbed but Norman. Clyde 1927 (before it was a trail).
This marks the end of my 23 day High Sierra's Trip. 14 of 15 attempted peak scrambles were summited on this trip. I turned around on Mt. Ritter due to loose rock & off route. 58,328 cumulative elevation gain and 320.4 miles including 10% off trail.
