Ascent Trip ReportI'm not sure why i didn't drive the whole way up, any SUV should be able to make it. the sign says 4WD high clearance required, but the road looked no worse than the few miles of dirt road leading up to the intersection.
i made good time due to the gentle grade, nice little workout.
could see Shasta and McLoughlin. did not find a benchmark.
on the way down i wanted to cut the switchbacks, but heavy brush prevents most of that. i did manage to cut the last few, and it seems many others do the same based on tracks i spotted.
