Ascent Trip ReportThis was the highlight of a traverse across several peaks above Eagle River. We started at the Baldy trail head and climbed Blacktail Rocks via the Baldy ridge. From the northern most peak of Blacktail there is some elevation loss and an indistinct route to the ridge between Roundtop and Vista Peak. Once on the ridge, there is a distinct trail to Roundtop and then all along the ridge to the south face of Vista Peak. Once you reach the south face, the trail thins out but stay to your right to slowly work your way up with a sort simple scramble at the end. We went down the back side of Vista Peak (grass) to the valley below Mt Magnificent. Climbed Mt Magnificent and followed the trail to the Mile Hi trail head. 14 miles, 7 hours.
