Ascent Trip ReportAbsolutely perfect weather and good visibility. Clear, sunny and low 60s. Very pretty hike with views of towns, lakes and mountains on all sides. Found a benchmark, but no register.
Had a treat on the way back to my motel when a mama bear ran across the highway with 3 cubs behind her. They all jumped up, and one by one climbed over the big cement road divider on the side of the road, but the last little guy really had trouble making it. It took him a few tries. All the traffic just stopped and patiently waited for him to get over it. I really wanted to go and help him out, but figured mama bar might object. They were so cute. Not what you expect to see on a bright sunny afternoon so close to town. No photos, but a memory that will last forever.
