Ascent Trip Report

they charged 5 even though we have an out of state license , and they accepted a fist full of quarters. Parked at Lilly pond and the trailhead was right across the street, with a sign for Honwee. There's public bbq and beach (small pond) at the trailhead. Plenty of parking. We did the loop clockwise. Very limited views, but some - we're thinking winter might be nice for better views. The trail up was easy to follow, a little boring (it seems like a jeep/atv trail) but pretty woods, take a sharp right to go up to the summit at which point it gets steeper (no sign to summit, but obvious detour and the there is a sign indicating the trail/loop). The trail down was more gradual and new-ish looking with lots of switchbacks. The trail down has lots of crossing trails - looks like ATV trails - and signs that say Honolulu. Took us just under 2 hours.
