|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||9710 ft / 2959 m|
Ascent Trip ReportExcellent hike from Pepperdine campground (no fees). Nice-looking lake and enjoyable scramble to the top. Solid class 2. Highly recommend.
Directions from Alutras: Find intersection of McDowell Ave with Main Street (US 395) and go east. It is right near city park. McDowell ave becomes County Rd 56 (also named Parker Creek road on google maps). Follow this paved, and latter excellent gravel road for about 20 miles. You will see signs for Pepperdine camp. You will pass two bridges on a gravel section of this road.
Directions from Cedarville: take Surprise Valley Rd for about couple of miles south, take a right turn on County Rd 25. It is excellent gravel road. Stay on the main road, avoiding any sides roads of lesser quality. On all junctions choose main road, going uphill. Once you will gain open ridge, directions are obvious and after about 15 miles you will intersect with County Rd 56 (aka Parker Creek Rd). Watch for the sign for camp at this intersection.
