Ascent Trip ReportThe highest point of 2 countries, and an empty mountain also. This is a beautiful mountain to climb: all day we saw just 3 other people (and 2 shepards). We climbed from the Macedonian side, and the route is very easy to follow: markers have been resprayed recently from the trailhead at Strezimir all the way to the summit. Maps are available in Mavrovi Anovi, but we didn't need to use at all. Getting to the trailhead is the hardest part: 19km of barely passable roads- we did it in a Renault Thalia and took over 1 hour. Be careful on this road- keep following the river and look for 'Korab' signs sporadically. Good camping possibility at trailhead. The route itself is non-technical, with no extra equipment required.
