Ascent Trip Report

Previous evening storm dropped 3 inches snow above 13,600. Easy to walk on. Real problem was the heavy frost on everything outside the forest. All the rocks were treacherous. Unbelievably slick; every step had to wedged between at least 2 rocks. Summited about 930am, and very little of the trail had thawed because it was still shaded. Haven't been that afraid of hurting myself on a hike in a long time. By 1030am sun had melted most of it, but still couldn't step on any shaded rock. Should have made the drive around to the southwest ridge route, which should have thawed much earlier.
